TOASTMASTERS- I have joined Thirroul Toastmasters to complete my Compentent Toastmasters certificate. I only have 4 speeches to go for this award. I had forgotten just how powerful it is to practice communication skills with other self-aware poeple.
ECO VILLAGE- in 2002 following a talk from Sarah West, a group in the Shoalhaven decied to get organised and start the basis for an eco-friendly village. I only found out about it this year though, and am now involved with making it happen. The group are educated and assertive, and have done thorough research on what is best practice for eco-villages. We meet every 1st Saturday of the month at Huskison, near Nowra. More details can be found on the websiteShoalhaven Ecovillage .org.au.

ALPINE TRACK- my attempt at completing the 700km Australian Alps Walking Track was unsuccessful due to an ear infection forcing me off the track after 5 days. I set off on New Years Day, and was travelling well until on the 3rd night my ear became painful enough to affect my sleep, and on the 4th night I barely slept at all. So I bailed out home and spent some productive time sorting out financial matters, canyoning with friends in the Blue Mountains, cycling, surfing and having a generally fun summer holiday at home. Maybe I will have another go at this great walk in the future.
WELCOME TO MAC- I have also had the opportunity to explore the features of my new Apple Mac ibook, and I must say, I am very impressed. I think I am yet another convert to MAC who wishes I did so many years ago.
